I am considering buying a stainless steel guide rod for my PCR and for my Sig 239 9mm for that matter.  It might not make a difference but it is just my preference.  I just hate poly guns and hate plastic parts on my metal guns.  You might as well carry a man purse w/ your plastic gun  Afro.  I own one poly gun and hate it (Walther P99) which is my only 40, totally top heavy.  I will trade it for another 40 at some point (CZ P06 or Sig P226 or P229).

Has anyone swaped out the guide rod for a stainless one and where did you get?

Thanks for the feedback.

Regards,

Matt the plastic gun hater

from what I have read, there is the possibilty of the metal guiderod peening the pocke that it sits in. being that the PCR has a forged alloy frame.

I've got over 3000 rounds through my PCR with the plastic guide rod and it is just fine.

The recoil spring will wear out and get weak well before the plastic guide rod gives up it's ghost.
