Several years ago I was shooting a Tangfolio of my friend. The pistol is 25 years old and super good. He bought it 'cause back then he couldn't afford a High Power. I wondered about Tangfolio, and in my research found it to be a "CZ Clone" Soooo,
I looked for CZ. LO and BEHOLD CZ brochure had custom shop phone # in fine print and it was AZ. Phone #!  That led me to Angus Hobdell, What a great guy! I told him I was looking for a 9mm. The first was a SP 01. It had real night sights, and Angus shop did a trigger, action, and one of their (then) brand new hammers...  WOW what a shooter! That pistol got traded off as part of deal to get a Les Baer. (I made out fat). But then I'm short a CZ? Sooo  back to Angus, they were in development of Pro Tek, I saw the PCR and it looked like it was made for me!
Another Trigger, action, new hammer... and how about some of those grips from the Pro Tek?  I felt like I was in on a really great secret!  Sure, shoot your Glocks, Berettas, HK's, Sigs...
I just have my little $450. CZ.... Grin.. anyway.. Who was your best friend that shared the secret with you? Jeff Cooper? He and a friend went to Canada to get CZ's for prototype Bren Ten's.  Its true! Paid alot for them too, during Cold War...Brrrr!

About 3 years ago, my best friend's uncle passed away and his aunt asked him to sell some guns for her. He ended up buying all of them except for one. He said he didn't like how it fit his hand and asked me if I was interested. He said it was a CZ 9mm. with three mags and his aunt wanted $275 for it. I bought sight unseen. Turns out it is a 1984 pre-b ! It is a fantastic shooter and got me hooked on CZs. I know have in my collection the pre-b, a 75sa, a 75c, and I am waiting for my PCR to show up at my ffl. I have also had, but sold a SP-01, a satin nickle 75b, a matte stainless 75b, and a P-06. All have been FLAWLESS !!

many moons ago I was in a buddies gunshop in Tucson, I think late 90s, and I was carrying a Taurus 357 revolver. Yes, seriously. He said, "You have to try the trigger action on this one!", and pulled out a Witness 40, the very first Witness 40 in the United States, and laid it on the counter. I tried it, pulled out my Magnum and laid it on the counter, saying, "Here's my trade in." I carried that gun for 13+ years, until, while working at the gunshop, a very long time customer asked if I would like the original, as he was selling a CZ Compact cheap. I bought it, and never looked back. 9 CZ pistols later, some are still here, and some have very sadly been sold over the years due to economic hardship - I would never part with one for any other reason.
Since this is the PCR club, I got into the PCR after I got my P01, as I wondered how the other alloy compact CZ was to shoot. I like both of them, and carry both.

I had owned a Taurus 608 .357 and a S&W 4046 for several years but 10 or so years ago I suddenly had a hankering to own a .45. I was browsing at my local funstore, mostly among the 1911s, and came across a pistol I hadn't seen before. I picked it up and immediately liked the feel of it. Racked the slide and tried the trigger; the action felt buttery smooth. Looked cool, felt great, I was smitten and bought it on the spot. Turned out what I had bought was a CZ 97B. Then a couple years later I spied its little brother at the same shop, a CZ PCR. I held it and wow, it felt even better in my hand than the 97B did. The price was a steal at $309 + tax out the door, (those were the days) so it went home with me too. Four more CZs and a couple clones later the rest is history.

My brother had spent time in the RCMP Auxillary.  He carried a CZ 85 Combat Pre B made in 1988.  It had the adjustable rear sight with the round "dovetail".  Gun a zillion rds through it and was tight as the day it was made.  Trigger was unbelievable.  I bought the gun from him and loved it.  Sold the gun when I found I couldn't replace the darn rear sight.  That was a mistake!  I have since bought another 85Combat, a Shadow, a SP-01 with night sights, a PCR, a 97B, and a Tanfolgio with both 9MM & .40Cal top ends. I now have a serous urge to buy a Stainless 75B in 9MM and a 75B in .40cal.

I want the Stainless with the upswept beavertail which are difficult to find up here in the great white north.

Take Care

I was browsing in a shop in the early 80s when my buddy, the clerk, showed me a new cZ75 they had in stock.  When I picked it up, I said that I would take it, then asked the price.  Have acquired a few more since then.

I heard about how awesome cz75's were online

I handled one CZ75 B in an academy and it fit my longer fingers/hands SO well and pointed extremely naturally.  I ended up finally grabbing a pcr a few years later after trying out snub revolver and sub compact taurus auto's

I went to a gunshop to trade the Glock 23 I had purchased a month or so earlier. I was looking for a 1911 type 9mm as I was having problems with my hands and wanted easy recoil.  Salesman handed me a CZ75 to look at while the gunsmith checked out a recent trade-in Springfield SS 9mm.  I fell in love with the feel of the CZ and agonized for a couple hours, finally taking the familiar 1911. I kept thinking about how good that CZ felt and a couple years later was able to make a trade for one. Downhill slide from there! Bought the PCR, needed money and sold the 75. Still looking for another CZ75 I can afford. It will happen!

Went to look at an 82 at a local shop. Did not plan to purchase. Soon as I held it in my hand, I said "you take Lay-A-Way"?

Shortly scrounged up the $200 to take it home and was hooked.

Got a chance to get another pistol this fall. I first looked at CZ PCR. I briefly considered another brand, but quickly decided to stay with CZ because of my experience shooting the CZ 82.

Bought the PCR sight unseen, never handled, and have NO regrets. Favorite handgun. Chose it due to mainly the reviews of this board and some others.

At least that's what got me to pick up my first CZ-75 at a gunshow.  Fit my hand like it was custom fitted to it.  I was only 15 so I had a few years to wait, but a CZ-75b was the first gun I ever bought.  Still have it and added a PCR for carry.

I'll get more once finances allow it.

Ditto. At least, that's where I first heard of it. The internet research I tried then was at a time when most CZ info I could find in English was almost strictly historical. I think CZ had a really bare web page at the time that was available only in Czech and looked like a kid had designed it. That was probably 15 years ago.

Yeah the anime it was pretty good if you didn't turn on the english.  That voice acting was awful.

Unfortunately my DVD walked off a few years ago and I haven't gotten around to replacing it.  I do have almost all the manga novels though.

I had a jam-o-matic Tokarev and was looking to trade it.  After eyeing something in the case, don't remember what, and talking price the owner came by and said "you want this".  It was a less than perfect 75B, but it had a nice trigger.  I had never heard of a CZ before, but figured what the heck, I'll only be out $250. Many CZs later it is one of the best I have used and is still a go to gun.
