Angus,

I am also a little confused about what you have on your site.  It says the long extension takes the length out to 140 mm.  Ok, I understand that.  But You also say it is a +4 extension, but it takes a 16 round magazine to 22 rounds total.  Wouldn't that make it a +6 extension, or take the total count to 20 rounds?

I am also curious how this pad affects the 12 round .40 magazines.  Does the new 13 round mag go over 140 mm with this extension?

I got a couple of long and short pads in today.
Just spent some time at the workbench playing with different combinations of the mags/pads.

This is all with the +10% spring and untrimmed followers.

Stock SP01 mags are supposed to hold 18, but they actually hold 19.
With the new short mag pad, they hold 21, so +2.
With the long pad, 23. (Too long for Limited, I dont have a gauge, but they were well over 140mm)

MecGar AFC mags hold 19...the short pad adds no capacity.*
The long pad adds 2.
*note the MecGar AFC 19 rnd mag has a plastic +2 pad on it already.

MecGar non afc 16 round mags:
Short pad adds 2, so 18 rounds.
Long pad adds 4, so 20 rounds.

The grooves in the mag pads need to be scraped out a bit.
I assume its the coloring process, but the groove was really tight.
I scraped them out and still had to use emery cloth on the MecGar mags to get them to fit without a mallet.

The short pad on the stock SP01 mag is promising. 21+1 will be fun when I play Limited Minor.
I wont have the chance to try this combo on the range until next week.

So, how much can I grind off the followers before it causes problems?

We are testing new follower and spring combo should get 1 more if not 2 more rounds need to make sure it is 100% reliable first

Problem getting more rounds is alwasy reducing spring lenght so more space in magazine, not always the best idea. I would prefer a  reload then a  malfunction brought on my weak mag springs
