I picked up the Galco.. Combat Master CM250 from a local gun shop. It fits the P01 quite well and is made for the Sig P229.

Hello PO1 owners:

I'm currently in the market for a OWB holster for my P01 and SP-01. My P01 will be my duty pistol, while SP-01 mostly for range.
I've found the following to my liking:
Comp Tac Paddle  $58.00
Galco M5X470 $30.00 (open muzzle)
High noon: High Noon Belt Holsters  Any recommendations as to which one that works best for both? or do I have to get 2 holsters?

Thanks,
Happy CZ owner

I recently received a holster from kirkpatrickleather.com that I believe you might like.  It fits my P01, has an open end that extends 1" past the muzzle of the P01 that would accomodate the Sp01 well.  My model is Texas Cross Draw, but they have a large assortment.

Are you looking for a holster for both duty and range that fits both guns? What kind of duty work are we talking? In uniform? Plain clothes? EPS?

stdlrf11:

i will be pursuing a career in EPS in the near future. currently, searching for a holster to use while in training w/(OWB). some classes require a holster with thumb-break and some requires to use with trigger hoods like the safariland/blackhawk ALS.  if getting holster with thumb-break, better to get it in a belt or paddle? how about with trigger hood? belt or paddle? any brand that i need to consider?

thanks

Safariland makes a good holster. Some of them even fit the P01.

Belt or paddle is a personal choice. My experience is that belt is more secure (for drawing) while paddle is more comfortable. Personally, I'd go with belt for a OWB with thumb break/hood.

I'm digging kydex right now. Leather is great, and I use them all the time for off duty carry (especially my Hazel IWB), but for range use, the kydex holds up much better and has a more positive feel when holstering/unholstering.

For EPS, open top. Period.
